Working partnerships helps union members

Working Partnerships provides assistance to union members and their families during layoffs, lockouts, strikes, or when union households experience medical, financial, and family emergencies. We connect our union sisters and brothers with emergency financial assistance, food support, connections to community resources, and advocate on their behalf with service providers, their creditors, landlords, and mortgage companies.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

ANNOUNCEMENT:

At last night’s executive board meeting we met with Julie Strahan who is running for Roseville City Mayor and currently serves as a city council member. After a very pleasant meet we learned that Julie’s values align with ours in protecting workers rights, getting safe and sick time for Roseville workers, fighting against wage theft and tax fraud, and she supports voluntary recognition of city staff who may want to organize. It is our honor to endorse Julie Strahan for Roseville City Mayor. You may read about her campaign at this link: https://strahan4roseville.com/platform/

BOWLERS NEEDED!

Tell Congress you support the Congressional Workers Union’s organizing campaign!

More than half of the members of Congress are millionaires. But their staff -- the people who run the actual day to day work, write legislation, and meet with constituents -- often work 60-70 hour weeks, but can’t afford rent in one of the highest cost-of-living cities in the country.

As a result, Congressional workers don’t represent America. To take a staff job for a member of Congress, a worker has to either be financially independent through other means (usually a wealthy family member) or willing to go on food stamps. The low wages and long hours contribute to the revolving door, as they trade their experience on the Hill for a high-paid lobbying gig.

Support for Mankato Nurses

Local 12 is standing in solidarity with Minnesota Nurses Association as the support the Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato nurses who are fighting anti-union corporate interests trying to eliminate bargaining in their facility.

We are always stronger together. Please show your support for our union siblings as they fight corporate greed and make their voices heard!
