Contract Negotiations Update and Upcoming Bargaining Unit Meeting on 11/22/2021

IMPORTANT NOTE:

AN EMAIL WAS SENT TO ALL LOCAL 12 MEMBERS AT HEALTHPARTNERS ON MONDAY INVITING YOU TO A ZOOM MEETING WITH THE BARGAINING TEAM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND AT 7:00PM TO GET DETAILED UPDATES AND ASK QUESTIONS AND DISCUSS NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE BARGAINING TEAM.  PLEASE SEE YOUR EMAIL FOR THE REGISTRATION LINK.

Since bargaining began, Local 12 members have been meeting and getting much done in the negotiation process. Both the employer and the union have come to some tentative agreements, dropped a few proposals, and offered counters. Of the proposals the Tentative agreements we have are include:

19.08 Trial Period. The employer had asked for an extension in the trial period when a member moves to a new location. We felt that it was fair the way it was. Counters were given back and forth and ultimately, we agreed to the 60 day for a move to the same job title and 90 to a different job title. The change to the current language is minimal. In turn, the employer agreed to drop the proposal for 20.11 to extend the trial period for a member who was displaced. We could not agree to this proposal because in this instance the member was placed in this job not by choice but because of a layoff.

Article 30: Educational assistance has a Tentative agreement. We asked the employer to allow members to ask for educational assistance for classes that both relate to their jobs and a possible potential job at HealthPartners which opens opportunities for members to go to school. There is appeals process now in case the member does not get approval from their supervisor.

The technical proposal to correct all language in the contract to be gender inclusive is a tentative agreement. We will be changing the language from he/she to they/them and/or the employee.

We also have a letter of understanding tentative agreement for the Credentialing Technical assistant job progression technical proposal.

The dropped proposals are listed below:

3.13 Distribution of temporary additional hours of overtime proposals that both the union and the employer came to the table with were dropped. The current language will remain the same.

19.01 Job Bidding and promotions proposal the employer proposed has been dropped by the Employer.

20.11 Trial period, as mentioned above has been dropped in response to the tentative agreement for 19.08

Article 22 the employer proposal for Reassignment has been dropped by the Employer.

On Thursday the 11th, the employer came to the table with a counter on the Work from Home proposal the Union brought to the table. The bargaining team is still discussing this and working on a response for next week. More details to come on this.

There are still many other proposals/counters on the table that both the union and the employer are working on responses to.

Please stay tuned later this week for more updates.
